The tiny feet, the little scrunched up hands, the way their mouths keep suckling long after they’ve finished feeding. Tiny jumpers, and even tinier socks babies really do make our hearts sing. We get lots of enquiries about baby gifts, thoughtful relatives just checking suitability of certain items and it always makes us proud to be helping at such a special time.
Recently a friend of Mrs Bear had a baby, and while we aren’t currently allowed to go give the new arrival a loving cuddle, we have been enjoying some FaceTime calls and cooing over the phone. During one of these calls our friend had asked Mrs Bear about personalised gifts as her relatives had been asking what to get for the baby…so we thought it was high time we put together a gift guide of the best personalised gifts for babies 2021.
Wooden memory box
‘Boxes’ have seen a bit of a trend lately; Christmas Eve boxes, Birthday boxes and even Easter boxes, and they do make a truly marvellous gift for a new-born. Not only can you fill the box with a wealth of lovely gifts but the box can also be used time and time again. It’s like getting two gifts in one. A memory box is usually engraved with the Baby’s name, date of birth and other important birth stats that don’t want to be forgotten, making it a really special personalised gift that the baby can keep well into adulthood.
Foot print ink set
While a little more labour intense for the new parents a foot print set is well worth the trouble. Many companies these days also provide a service in which the printed feet can then be sent back to the business and framed and personalised. This makes a truly unique gift for parents to gaze upon and also for baby to look back on when their feet are a lot bigger!
Personalised baby comforter
Offering comfort to a new born is a priceless gift, aiding in helping them to settle and providing a relaxed environment for parents and child alike. There are many different types of baby comforter out there but we think the best ones are simple and soft. Easy to grasp, and really lovely to cuddle. Comforters, also known as a blankie or a doudou can be easily personalised with a name, date or simple message. Have a look at our range of personalised baby comforters here.
A first teddy bear
Of course the teddy bear has to feature high in out list for best personalised baby gifts 2021!
There is something very special about a child’s first bear and whilst they may not be able to play with it straight away it makes a wonderful gift to be given at birth or at a 1st birthday. We always think a first teddy should be classic, a proper teddy bear with soft fur and a smiling face. Adding a personalised jumper with the child’s name on just adds a little bit of extra special-ness.
This is one of our favourites that you can find on the Bears4u web site.

Big Sister/Big Brother Personalised Teddy
Of course, if you are buying a teddy for a baby you can’t forget the big brother or sister! A personalised teddy with their name and an ‘I’m the Big Sister’ message will make sure that they don’t feel left out.
A Personalised Cubby Teddy Bear
Cubbies are a real favourite for 2021 and are a stunning gift for a baby that will undoubtedly be a best friend for many years. The lovely range of cuddly animals and bears can have a fabulous embroidery block exquisitely designed with all the details of the birth. Have a peek at the full range of Cubby Teddy Bears here.
Swaddle blanket
Most new born babies love to be swaddled. Wrapping them up in a blanket all tucked around with their arms in helps to stop the startle reflex that so often wakes a sleeping babe from its slumber. There is a lot of choice when it comes to swaddle blankets, lots of different colours, shapes and sizes but we think a customised one makes it just that extra bit special.
Birth blocks
These are something we’ve only just discovered this year but we think they are a fantastic idea. As baby’s grow into toddlerhood they love to play with wooden blocks, stacking and pushing over the tower. Birth blocks are basically personalised building blocks. You can choose to give a couple or a full set and each one can have a different personalisation on them.
Baby name vest (big or little brother or sister clothing)
We love the idea of personalised outfits, especially those teeny tiny little vests that look so cute on baby’s (we feel all slushy just thinking about it) and these make such a lovely gift. A keepsake for mum to shed a tear over when she gets all the tiny clothes out the box in the attic in years to come. If the new baby is a sibling, we also love the idea of big or little brother or sister clothing.
Baby age blanket
In the age of social media we see a lot of monthly milestone shares of our friend’s baby’s. A baby age blanket allows for the perfect milestone photo opportunity and makes it super simple for Mum too…just simply lay baby on it! These can also be customised with baby’s name and birthday. Just such a cute and quirky gift!
Personalised Gifts are Special
Personalised gifts are the future, with technology changing and getting more sophisticated there’s even more ways to personalise than ever before. We recently made a video on our social channels about how we personalise our bears, and went through the process from purchase to packing! We are a small family run business and each of our bears is selected, personalised and packed by hand. Have a look at our video here.
Adding a name or message to a gift makes a gift extra memorable and we have been offering unique individually designed gifts for a number of years. 2021, so far, feels like the year of personalisation. Everyone is after a gift that shows how much we care, and after the year we had last year is it any wonder?
We hope you have found our guide to best personalised baby gifts 2021 useful but if you have any questions about picking a suitable gift, or about colours or text of your personalisation then please do send us a message, we are always happy to help.
