Things to consider before Buying a Teddy Bear Online
It is almost November; can you believe it? Here in the North of England it is most definitely Autumn, the light has changed, its softer, and when we get some late afternoon sunshine it catches the deep orange and red of the trees and just brings us so much joy. It really is one of our favourite times of the year. It has been a busy week at HQ and have been sent lots of pictures of smiling children who have been treated to something soft and cuddly.
Give a bear a home
This week we are chatting about Bear Adoption and what to consider before making a decision about which bear to buy. Adopting a teddy is much more than purchasing a soft toy, it takes time deciding what you really want. Is it your first adoption? Are you adding to your collection? Is it a gift for someone else? The internet is full of websites selling teddies but here’s a few things to consider before selecting your Teddy Bear. After all if you are gifting a teddy, you want it to be special.
Quality and price
Finding a quality bear is important, it’s so easy to click away on the internet and not really know what’s going to arrive. Finding a trustworthy site and looking if contact details are easily available should you have any queries with your order are things to check. You can also check for the ‘Trusted Commerce’ badge at the bottom of the site.
Buying a recognised brand such as Gund, Teddy Hermann or Mary Meyer guarantees top quality and you can rest assured that all of the necessary safety tests have been done. There are plenty of cheap, unbranded soft toys on the market which are poor quality, and haven’t been put through the rigorous testing process that the top manufacturers use. Ideally these should be avoided, as it is likely they will fall apart before too long. Spending a little more on a quality product, will give you the peace of mind that your gift for a baby will be around for many years.
One of our favourites is Teddy Hermann , their bears make stunning gifts for all ages and occasions.
Putting some trust in reviews
Reviews are important to businesses, they offer feedback to both buyer and seller, and we know we feel filled with pride when we receive a glowing report. Checking through reviews, finding which products have been given 5 stars can help you decide what to pick and also provide you with peace of mind.
Checking to see if a website has reviews can also be useful. It gives peace of mind that others have bought from that site and received the goods. We use Trus Pilot for our reviews and are delighted to be their Number 1 recommended supplier of Online Personalised Gifts.
Gift wrap & delivery
We all love to receive parcels through the post, so a company that puts that ‘little bit extra’ into how your furry friend arrives ticks all the boxes for us. Have a look at our gift wrapping service here which is all included in the price. Delivery prices and arrival times are also important things to consider, especially if you’re buying a gift.
Choice
You may know what you are looking for… but then again you may not …having a good old browse and seeing what is available can be a good start. Many sites provide options like ‘you may also like’ based on items you have looked at, and this may present you with an option you hadn’t thought of. Of course sometimes there is too much choice, so if you are feeling overwhelmed write down a list of qualities you are looking for in a bear then go back and start looking again.
Adopting a bear can mean adopting a friend for life so we know that you want to get it right. We are always here to guide you, answer questions and just generally chat about our favourite thing – Teddy Bears.
